To the compatriots Journalists od Echos du Nord who were arrested today by Ali Bongo’s squads and taken to the regime’s gulags, we bring our support by sharing with the audience, the thought of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the Russian intellectual who had written so much about the nature of tyranny and its gulags.

Violence can only be concealed by a lie, and the lie can only be maintained by violence.

In our country the lie has become not just a moral category but a pillar of the State.

Writing transmits incontrovertible condensed experience... from generation to generation. In this way writings become the living memory of a nation.

Woe to that nation whose writing is cut short by the intrusion of force. This is not merely interference with freedom of the press but the sealing up of a nation's heart, the excision of its memory.

Unlimited power in the hands of limited people always leads to cruelty.

The belly is an ungrateful wretch, it never remembers past favors, it always wants more tomorrow.

It's an universal law-- intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.

You can resolve to live your life with integrity. Let your credo be this: Let the lie come into the world, let it even triumph. But not through me.

Aux compatriotes journalistes d’Echos du Nord qui ont été appréhendés ce jour par les escadrons d’Ali Bongo et conduits dans les goulags du régime, nous venons porter soutien en partageant avec le lectorat, la pensée d’Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, cet intellectuel Russe qui avait tant écrit sur la nature de la tyrannie et de ses goulags.

La violence ne peut être cachée que par un mensonge, et le mensonge ne peut être maintenu que par la violence.

Dans notre pays, le mensonge est devenu non seulement une catégorie morale, mais un pilier de l'État.

L'écriture transmet une expérience condensée incontestable ... de génération en génération. De cette manière, les écrits deviennent la mémoire vivante d'une nation.

Malheur à cette nation dont l'écriture est interrompue par l'intrusion de la force. Il ne s'agit pas seulement d'interférer avec la liberté de la presse, mais d'étouffer le cœur d'une nation, de faire l'excision de sa mémoire.

Un pouvoir illimité entre les mains de personnes limitées, conduit toujours à la cruauté.

Le ventre est misérablement ingrat, il ne se souvient jamais des faveurs passées, il veut toujours plus demain.

C'est une loi universelle - l'intolérance est le premier signe d'une éducation inadéquate. Une personne mal éduquée se comporte avec une impatience arrogante, tandis qu'une éducation véritablement profonde engendre l'humilité.

Vous pouvez résoudre à vivre votre vie avec intégrité. Que votre credo soit ceci: Que le mensonge s’infiltre dans le monde, qu'il triomphe même. Mais sans passer par moi.

They have adhered with enthusiasm to the supposedly inclusive dialogue without taboos, proposed by Ali Bongo. But strangely, since the arrest of Echos du Nord journalists, not one of these members of the opposition held by the regime as "responsible", has published the slightest comment about these arrests. Should we interpret this as an embarrassment that they feel? Or is it simply an indifference motivated by the adage saying that a full mouth does not speak? But we can also think that because of their new alliance, the subject has become taboo, even if the dialogue they support would not be!

Ils se sont prononcés avec enthousiasme pour le dialogue supposément sans exclusive et sans tabous, proposé par Ali Bongo. Mais bizarrement, depuis l’arrestation des journalistes d’Echos du Nord, pas un de ces membres de l’opposition tenue par le régime comme « responsable », n’a pondu le moindre communique concernant ces arrestations. Devons-nous interpréter cela comme une gêne de leur part ? Ou encore est-ce simplement de l’indifférence motivée par l’adage qui dit que bouche pleine ne parle pas ? Mais on peut aussi penser que vu leur nouvelle alliance, le sujet soit devenu tabou, même si le dialogue qu’ils soutiennent lui se déclare ne pas l’être !

Given the climate of terror in which Ali Bongo is maintaining the Gabonese population, this blog reminds its readers that any reasonable person would agree that the threat of imprisonment and even death, uttered by Ali Bongo to all who refuse to support his duplicity, does not strengthen confidence in his supposed dialogue. Indeed, dialogue under threat is meaningless; and free Gabonese should not tolerate any dialogue amid threats and intimidation.

Ali Bongo did attack, kill the Gabonese people, after stealing their votes. Now he wants tranquility. We say no; the time where we were passive is gone! The free Gabonese people will not let go so easily of someone who has assaulted and robbed them. It will track him wherever he is; and his dialogue, he can shove it somewhere...

Vu le climat de terreur sous lequel Ali Bongo maintien la population gabonaise, ce blog vient rappeler à son lectorat que toute personne raisonnable conviendrait que les menaces d’emprisonnement et même de mort, proférées par Ali Bongo envers tous ceux qui refusent de cautionner sa forfaiture, ne renforce aucunement la confiance envers son fameux dialogue. En effet, dialoguer sous menace n'a pas de sens ; et les Gabonais libres ne devraient tolérer aucun dialogue sur fond de menace et d'intimidation.

Ali Bongo s’est permis d’attaquer, de tuer les Gabonais, après leur avoir volé leurs suffrages. Maintenant il veut la tranquillité. Nous disons non ; le temps où nous étions passifs est révolu! Le peuple Gabonais libre ne lâchera pas si facilement pas quelqu’un qui l’a agressé et volé. Il le traquera où qu'il soit, et son dialogue il peut se le mettre quelque part…
