The former Prime Minister Jean-Eyeghe Ndong said the following on RFI:
"I have known since 1969, that Ali Bongo is of Biafran origin. So he claims to be born in Brazzaville, but he must then present his birth certificate. He is not legitimate; if one of my children said to me, Dad, no you're not our father, so you're not the head of this family, but it is a problem! A country is like a family; when the chief, sees his status in question, he must withdraw from power. It's that simple!

«Je le sais depuis 1969, qu’Ali Bongo est d’origine Biafraise. Donc, lui il prétend être née à Brazzaville, mais qu’il nous présente son acte de naissance. Il n’est plus légitime; si un de mes enfants me dit: Papa, non tu n’es pas notre père, donc tu n’es pas le chef de cette famille, mais ça pose un problème ! Un pays c’est comme une famille ; quand le chef, son statut est mis en cause, il doit se retirer du pouvoir. C’est aussi simple que ça!
