Is the application of articles of the constitution mandatory or optional?
According to Ali Bongo during his interview on Gabon-TV, some articles of our Constitution are optional for him. Thus he said he saw no need to apply Article 14a of the Constitution which states:
Article 14a of the Gabonese Constitution:
The President of the Republic is assisted by a Vice-President of the Republic. The Vice President of the Republic is appointed by the President of the Republic who terminates his duties, after consulting the presidents of the two chambers of Parliament. The Vice President of the Republic is chosen in Parliament or outside of it.
Ali Bongo told the reporters that he felt that this position, though constitutional, was neither important nor necessary. Dear readers, do not be surprised if tomorrow Ali Bongo abolishes altogether the post of prime minister, considering that this position is not significant for him.
Meanwhile, Mborantsuo tells us that she is not competent to make any comment.

L’application des articles de la constitution est-elle obligatoire ou facultative ?
D’après Ali Bongo lors de son interview sur Gabon-Télévision, certains articles de notre Constitution sont pour lui facultatifs. C’est ainsi qu’il a dit qu’il n’a pas jugé utile d’appliquer l’article 14a de la constitution qui dit ceci :
Article 14a de la Constitution Gabonaise :
Le Président de la République est assisté d'un Vice-Président de la République. Le Vice-Président de la République est nommé par le Président de la République qui met fin à ses fonctions, après consultation des Présidents des deux chambres du Parlement. Le Vice-Président de la République est choisi au sein du Parlement ou en dehors de celui-ci.
Ali Bongo a simplement dit aux journalistes qu’il a estimé que ce poste, pourtant constitutionnel, n’était ni important, ni nécessaire. Chers lecteurs, ne vous étonnez pas si demain, Ali Bongo supprimait purement et simplement le poste de Premier Ministre, considérant que ce poste n’est pas pour lui important.
Pendant ce temps, Mborantsuo nous dit qu’elle n’est pas compétente à faire le moindre commentaire.
