HOW THE BONGO REGIME KILLED THE COCOA SECTOR IN GABON, IN A FEW NUMBERS. COMMENT LE RÉGIME BONGO A TUÉ LA FILIÈRE CACAO AU GABON, EN QUELQUES CHIFFRES

In an Ivorian economic magazine, the Ali Bongo regime, through the General Directory of the Economy, welcomes the beautiful surge in the production of Gabonese Cocoa bought from the farmers, which was for the 2015/2016 agricultural season of 73.2 tons for the whole country (source: click here)
We would like to point out to the Bongo regime that Gabon, in 1974, produced 5500 tons of cocoa (source: L’agriculture du Gabon : entre décolonisation et ajustements structurels, page 89).
So, between 1974 and 2016, in 42 years, the Bongos managed to reduce the Gabonese cocoa production by almost 4000% (a fall of 100% is equivalent to half = 2750, then 100% divided by 10 gives a fall of 1000% = 275, then 1000% divided by 4 gives 275/4 = about 70, a fall of 4000%)

After the European Union resolution against Gabon, voted on 14 September 2017, which significantly damaged and weakened Ali Bongo, he would probably have decided to bet all the way on environmental themes to maintain his entry within international circles.
He therefore seized the opportunity given by the United Nations General Assembly, which was held from 19 to 25 September 2017 in New York, to attempt to legitimize himself before the international community by beating the drum of the danger of climate change. This approach would have been advised to him by the British Lee White, who is the executive secretary of the National Agency for the Preservation of Nature in Gabon. Who said that Ali Bongo was not a Pan-Africanist?
On this issue, Guy Rossatanga-Rignault, simultaneously Secretary General of the Presidency and President of the National Climate Council, deals with the legal aspects.
La Lettre du Continent also tells us that Ali Bongo met Laurent Fabius, who is the Facilitator of the COP21 and President of the French Constitutional Council, in New York. This former French Prime Minister also leads a group of international experts who advocate at the United Nations for a "global environmental pact".
But according to La Lettre du Continent, Denis Sassou Nguesso would have had the same idea. He announced in New York, the organization of a summit on the financing of the Blue Fund for the Congo Basin, of which he would be the guarantor, at the end of October in Brazzaville. On this, Sassou is advised by Jean-Louis Borloo. It is also the wife of François Soudan, who happens to be the Congolese Minister of Tourism and Environment, Arlette Soudan-Nonault, who must "sell" this initiative to international organizations. Qui a dit qu’Ali Bongo n’était pas panafricain ?

When listening to Raymond Ndong Sima enumerate the justifications of his recent political declaration, and that one can read between the lines; one soon realizes that his mission is to sow confusion within the opposition by trying to open another polemical breach whose aim is only to dilute the solidity of this opposition by sowing doubt.
In other words, Raymond Ndong Sima tries to diminish the opinions of the opposition by opposing to them counter arguments that systematically support Ali Bongo’s positions. Raymond Ndong Sima does this with the zeal of the virgin and the clumsiness that goes with it.
When one listens to Ndong Sima, one notices that his exercise is far removed from a desire for social and political transformation in Gabon, but instead to devote himself exclusively to one thing: the dismantling of the positions supported by the opposition to Ali Bongo. He did everything to discredit the opposition in the eyes of the Gabonese people; including the indiscriminate denunciation of the massacres that took place in Gabon in 2016; claiming that he wanted a list proving that there had been deaths, while families of victims had made videos still available, and that international media had aired their investigations in Libreville morgues, one of which was full of bullet riddled bodies who had been deposited there by elements of Ali Bongo's security forces.
This information is available to those who bother to look for it. Knowing that Raymond Ndong Sima was Prime Minister in Gabon, we know he has resources to approach people like Dr. Sylvie Mbot who produced the report and the preliminary list of victims, to find out more. But this is not the course of action wanted by the authorities who are guiding him; his role is to sow doubt by saying that there were no massacres. In fact he asks the same question as Ali Bongo: where are the bodies? We cannot accept this.
Raymond Ndong Sima is neither the first nor the last Gabonese political actor to make a pact with the regime in order to mislead the people. But this time he is mistaken about the era and type of Gabonese he is dealing with, because we are not minions and will not give up!

Quand on écoute Raymond Ndong Sima énumérer les justifications de sa récente sortie politique, et qu’on sache lire entre les lignes ; on s’aperçoit assez rapidement que sa mission soit celle de semer la confusion au sein de l’opposition en essayant d’ouvrir une autre brèche polémique dont le but n’est que de diluer la solidité de cette opposition en y semant le doute.
En d’autres termes, Raymond Ndong Sima essaie de diminuer les raisonnements de l’opposition en leur opposant des contre arguments qui soutiennent systématiquement les positions d’Ali Bongo. Raymond Ndong Sima s’y prend avec un zèle du puceau et la maladresse qui va avec.
Quand on écoute Ndong Sima, on s’aperçoit que son exercice s’éloigne considérablement de toute volonté de transformation sociale et politique du Gabon, pour se consacrer exclusivement sur une chose : le démantèlement des positions soutenues par l’opposition à Ali Bongo. Il fait tout pour décrédibiliser l’opposition auprès des Gabonais ; allant jusqu’à nier à mots couverts, les massacres qui ont eu lieu au Gabon en 2016 ; en affirmant vouloir une liste prouvant qu’il y ait eu des morts, alors que des familles de victimes ont fait des vidéos encore disponibles et que des medias internationaux ont répercuté des recherches dans des morgues de Libreville, dont une regorgeaient de mort par balles qui avaient été déposés là par des éléments des forces de l’ordre d’Ali Bongo.
Ces informations sont disponibles à qui se donne la peine de chercher. Sachant que Raymond Ndong Sima ait été Premier Ministre au Gabon, nous savons qu’il a des ressources pour s’approcher de personnes comme Dr Sylvie Mbot qui a produit le rapport et la liste préliminaire des victimes, pour en savoir plus. Mais cela n’est pas la démarche voulue par le pouvoir qui le guide ; son rôle est de semer le doute en disant qu’il n’y a pas eu de massacres. En fait il pose la même question qu’Ali Bongo : où sont les corps ? Cela nous ne pouvons l’accepter.
Raymond Ndong Sima n’est ni le premier, ni le dernier acteur politique Gabonais à faire un pacte avec le régime afin d’induire le peuple en erreur. Mais cette fois il se trompe d’époque et de type de Gabonais, car nous ne sommes pas des larbins et ne lâcherons rien !
